Vitality physiotherapy in London: how to use your cover
Based on Vitality's published information and clinic details checked in September and October 2026. This page is about Vitality health insurance. PhysioMatch London isn't part of Vitality and isn't endorsed by it. (Looking for the physio clinic in London Bridge that happens to be called Vitality Physiotherapy? See our Central London guide.)

The short version: with Vitality health insurance you can self-refer for up to 6 physiotherapy sessions every plan year, without seeing a GP. You start a claim in the Vitality UK app through Care Hub, have a quick phone or digital triage, and are directed to a physio in Vitality's Priority Physio network. Several London clinics say they accept Vitality, and we can match you with one that treats your back pain or sciatica.
How to use Vitality for physio
- 1
Check your cover
Self-referral for up to 6 sessions a year is included in Vitality health insurance. Out-patient Cover is an optional add-on that changes what's paid beyond that, and any excess on your plan still applies.
- 2
Start a claim online
Open Care Hub, which you can reach through the Vitality UK app, and self-refer. You don't need to speak to a GP.
- 3
Attend a triage
You'll have a digital or phone triage. Vitality then directs you to the right care: self-help exercises, or face-to-face appointments.
- 4
Book with a network physio
Vitality's team will arrange your sessions with a physio in its Priority Physio network. Tell them if you'd like a particular clinic, and they'll confirm whether it's in the network.

Vitality physio questions
Does Vitality health insurance cover physiotherapy?
Yes. Vitality says every health insurance plan includes self-referral for up to 6 face-to-face physiotherapy sessions each plan year, through its Priority Physio network. What's covered beyond that depends on your plan, so check your policy or ask Vitality before you book.
Do I need a GP referral for physio with Vitality?
No. Vitality says you can self-refer online through Care Hub, which you can reach in the Vitality UK app, without speaking to a GP.
What is Vitality's Priority Physio network?
It's Vitality's panel of physiotherapists. Vitality says it covers over 6,900 accredited physiotherapists in more than 1,900 UK locations. Sessions arranged through the network are paid in full for the self-referral allowance, apart from any excess on your plan.
Can I see a physio outside the Vitality network?
Only with Out-patient Cover on your plan. Vitality then pays up to £35 per session with a physiotherapist it recognises, up to your chosen limit, and you pay the invoice and claim it back. Clinic fees are often higher than £35, so you may pay the difference.
Can I choose my own physio clinic?
You can ask. Vitality says to tell its team which physiotherapist or clinic you have in mind, and they'll confirm whether it's in the network. If it isn't, the £35-a-session Out-patient Cover route above applies.
How fast can I be seen?
Vitality says that once your claim is approved, the physio panel usually contacts you the next working day or sooner. You'll start with a digital or phone triage, and then be directed to self-help or face-to-face appointments.
